I was born, raised and educated in Hawkes Bay on a lifestyle block stocked with horses and attended Massey University 1977-1981 to complete a BVSc dgree. I am married to Phillipa for 23 years so far and together have three children - boys aged 21 and 19, and a girl 14.
I initially worked in mixed practice in Tokoroa for 5 years doing predominantly dairy work, but this included most other species to some extent. We then moved to the warmer climes of Whangarei in 1986 to do mainly dairy work and some companion animals. Having bought a half share in Whangarei Veterinary Services in 1990 and the other half in 1996, I diversifed into Practice Mangaemne while maintaining active dairy work.
In 2005 Whangarei Veterinary Services amalgamated with Hikurangi Vet Service and Animal Health Centre Whnngarei to form Northland Veterinary Group.
I class my work interests as the usual dairy stuff and Practice IT systems.
Outside of work my interests involve family, horses, and fishing when time permits.
